Google has released an urgent Android security update to fix two critical zero-day vulnerabilities—CVE-2024-53197 and CVE-2024-53150—that were actively exploited in targeted attacks. These flaws allowed hackers, including digital forensics firm Cellebrite, to access locked Android devices without user interaction. One attack targeted a Serbian activist. Pixel phones are receiving the patch first, while other Android users may have to wait for their manufacturers to roll it out.
